By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
01 Acceptance of Terms
By browsing our website, creating an account, or using any of our tools, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ShortlistsAI.
02 Description of Services
ShortlistsAI provides the following AI-powered tools:
- ATS Resume Scanner: analyzes your resume and returns an ATS compatibility score, section-by-section feedback, and a composite ShortlistsAI Score.
- Job Match Score: compares your resume against a specific job description you provide.
- One-Click Optimize: an AI-generated rewrite of flagged sections of your resume.
- Live Editor: a manual editing tool (Pro plans) with live section/keyword checklists and on-demand AI re-scoring.
- Cover Letter Generator: an AI-generated cover letter tailored to a resume and job description.
- Proposal Generator: AI-generated proposals for Upwork, Fiverr, and on-site job applications.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any tool at any time with reasonable notice.
03 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use our services. By using ShortlistsAI, you represent that you meet this requirement and that your use complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.
04 Your Account
You may create an account using Google Sign-In or an email/password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@shortlistsai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
05 Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use our services only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use our tools in an automated, abusive, or bulk-scraping manner (bots, scripts, or excessive automated requests)
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' accounts
- Upload content containing viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Impersonate another person or submit someone else's personal or career information without consent
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to our tools
- Circumvent usage limits tied to your plan
06 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Our scores, section feedback, optimized resume text, cover letters, and proposals are generated using AI (via OpenAI's API) based on the content you provide. This output:
- Is a tool to guide and assist you — it is not a guarantee of ATS compatibility with every employer's specific system, nor a guarantee of interviews or job offers
- May occasionally contain errors, and you are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before using it
- Should be fact-checked against your actual experience — never submit AI-generated claims about your work history that aren't true
07 Your Resume Content
When you upload or paste resume content, you grant ShortlistsAI a limited license to process that content solely to generate your scores, feedback, and optimized output. You represent that:
- You own the content you submit, or have the right to submit it
- The information reflects your own (or an authorized party's) career history

Prices are listed in USD; your payment provider (Paddle) may display and charge in your local currency. Paddle is our Merchant of Record and handles payment processing, taxes, and invoicing on our behalf.
09 Refunds
Refund eligibility differs between our one-time purchase and subscription plans. Full details are in our dedicated Refund Policy.
10 Cancelling a Subscription
You may cancel your Pro subscription anytime from your dashboard's Account & Billing page. You retain access through the end of the period already paid for; no further charges will occur after that.
11 Third-Party Services
Our platform integrates with third-party services including Google (Sign-In), OpenAI (AI processing), Paddle (payments), and MongoDB Atlas (data storage). Your use of these integrations is also subject to each provider's own terms.
12 Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, design, logos, and software — is the property of ShortlistsAI. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to use our website and tools for your personal, non-commercial purposes. Resume, cover letter, and proposal content generated for you is yours to use freely for your own job search or freelance applications.
13 Disclaimer of Warranties
Our services are provided "as is". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding uninterrupted or error-free operation, the absolute accuracy of AI-generated scores or content, or specific job search outcomes.
14 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShortlistsAI shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services, including career or employment outcomes, or hiring decisions made by third-party employers. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
15 Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Accounts terminated due to Acceptable Use violations are not eligible for a refund.
16 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by applicable law. Disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation before formal proceedings.
17 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The "Last Updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our platform at least 14 days before taking effect.
